FAQs

What are the Nations Best Elite teams? What is the commitment level?
  • There will only be ONE Elite team per grade (2034-2027). It will be built from eligible players registered for our Regional Player Evals with a goal of being a top national team in the country (USCLUBLAX).
  • These Elite teams will play in 2-3 events (included in tuition) a year. These events will not conflict with your regional club schedule.
  • Final Schedules will be included in your invitation, but here is a summary (subject to change):
    • YOUTH Elite Teams will compete in The Circuit Event Series. One early Oct weekend, One winter weekend, and a playoff weekend is Memorial Day (if qualified)
    • HIGH SCHOOL Elite teams have an A ’La Carte event selection/invitation to suit HS schedules:
      • Fall: One Percent Club Challenge – Oct 12, 2025 (NJ)
      • Winter: Holiday Bowl – Dec 29–31, 2025 (Ft Lauderdale)
      • Summer: Late July 2026 (Likely Pinnacle Championships or similar).
  • All Elite Team players will also be invited to attend our Holiday Bowl Combine Week and other A’La Carte events, but they will be optional/additional $ offerings.
What is the Holiday Bowl Combine Week? Who is eligible to attend?
  • The Holiday Bowl Combine Week is a stand-alone best in class, National Camp & Tournament week held from Dec 27–31, 2025, in Ft Lauderdale area.
  • We will be inviting the top players from the 3STEP ecosystem to fill 44 spots in each grade 2034-2027.
  • These 44 players/grade will have 2-day camp experience where they will be coached by top coaches from across the country and compete alongside some of the best players in the country.
  • After the 2-day camp, players will be rostered on teams that will compete at The Holiday Bowl Championships in Ft Lauderdale for the last 3 days of the trip.
  • The 44 spots will be filled first by Elite Team players who “opt-in” for the week, and then all remaining spots will be filled by top players from our 3STEP ecosystem not currently on Elite Teams.
How do I make sure my youth player is eligible for an invitation to join Nations Best Elite team?
  1. All youth players must be registered for a Regional Player Evaluation.
  2. You must be a member of a 3STEP lacrosse club (or affiliate partner).  Currently that list is:

    2. EXCEPTION NOTE 1: If you live in a part of the country that does not have a 3STEP club within driving distance, you can apply for an exception. Email chris@kingslax.com to inquire.

What if my youth player can't attend one of the regional evaluations? Can I still be selected for an Elite team?
  • It is okay if you can’t attend in person! But, you need to be registered!
  • If you are registered, but can’t attend; we will consider you based on what we know of you from past Nations Best Events, as well as coach recommendations, film, etc.
How does a High School player get selected to a Nations Best team or Holiday Bowl Combine Week?
  • At the high school level, we build our teams by inviting players that we know from previous Nations Best events AND from working with coaches and directors from our 3STEP Affiliate clubs.
Does Nations Best assist with recruiting?
  • YES.  Between our tournament schedule of putting you in front of top level coaches against premier competition, and our assistance with the recruiting process (in conjunction with your local club), we’re here to help and celebrate our players’ commitments
When will invitations for the Nations Best teams go out?
  • Invitations for our ELITE TEAMS will go out in mid-August.  There will be multiple rounds of invites, and we will communicate to all registered participants as the invite process unfolds.
  • Invitations for our HOLIDAY COMBINE BOWL WEEK will go out in phases.  With phase one in late summer, and additional invites going out throughout the fall.
  • Invitations for additional summer tournaments or A’La Carte events will go out 2-4 months ahead of the event (ideally).
What is the difference between the Elite teams and the other offerings and events?
  • There will only be ONE Elite team per grade. It will be built from eligible players registered for our Regional Player Evals.
  • These Elite teams will play in 2-3 events (included in tuition) a year. These events will not conflict with your regional club schedule.
  • Elite Team players will also be invited to attend our Holiday Bowl Combine Week and other A’La Carte events, but they will be optional/additional.
What if I don't make, or can't commit to, the Elite team? Can I still play in other Nations Best event and offerings?
  • Yes!  Our Holiday Bowl Combine Week and any additional Nations Best events are open to Non-Elite Team players.
  • It will be very selective, but the available pool of players for these additional events will include;  Any players already in our Nations Best database (from previous events & evals), as well as players recommended by their club director.
Do I have to be registered for a Regional Player Evaluation if I only want to go to the Holiday Bowl Combine Week?
  • No. You don’t need to be registered for the regional evaluation to be selected for a spot at the Holiday Bowl Combine.
  • But, if you can attend a regional evaluation, it does make it easier for us to evaluate you for a spot at Holiday week.
  • If you don’t register and can’t attend, we recommend reaching out directly to us to indicate your interest. Then we can qualify you from there given the info we have from past NB events or coach/director recommendations.
What if my Nations Best schedule conflits with my regional club schedule?
  • We set up all our Nations Best programming specifically to avoid all regional club events.
  • However, if there is a conflict we mandate that you honor your club commitment and we will credit/prorate you for the missed event.
